IBLI Audios Jingles

Pastoral areas where the Index-Based Livestock Insurance (IBLI) operational are characterized by very high illiteracy level. Conventional methods of outreach in the rural areas have limited the awareness raising program efforts of ILRI’s IBLI team and its commercial partners, insurance companies. Exacerbated by high cost of providing face-to-face training to all pastoralists and insurance promoters, the team developed short and targeted audio jingles that insurance companies use as intro and outro for radio messages. This audios jingles are used to capture pastoralist attention before IBLI radio program. It was done in Somali and Kiswahili languages. It is also transferable via WhatsApp, etc
