Bringing innovation to the pastoral areas of southern Ethiopia

This film highlights the experiences of Index-Based Livestock Insurance (IBLI) policyholders in Borana zone of southern Ethiopia and why they chose to purchase the insurance. IBLI has the potential to protect many other herding communities throughout Africa, however introducing insurance to previously untouched and still very inaccessible populations has had its challenges.
